I moved to Normanton with my wife, Amanda, in July 2001, as the Building Services Manager with Carpentaria Shire Council. Previous to this, I worked with the Atherton Shire Council for almost 18 years in various positions within the Building Services area. In June 2007, I took on the role of Director of Community Development, which encompasses not only building, but also planning, community services, animal control, pest management, health and various other sectors. I have enjoyed the challenges that this role has provided me with and the opportunities I am granted to be involved in with many and varied community projects and events.

I love living in Normanton, and enjoy the laid back, country lifestyle that can only be experienced in a rural/remote area such as Carpentaria Shire. I enjoy the many social activities only a rural setting can provide, and try to participate in one way or another in community events as much as I can. As my motto goes – “We love it up here!”
