NAIDOC Week Celebrations 2009

NAIDOC: National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observence Committee

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme encourages communities to acknowledge the status of their Elders as leaders and role models for youth.
