Held in the picturesque Gulf of Carpentaria in Karumba, QLD, come and join us to unveil the next batch of Australia’s best short film films. Saturday 26th September 2026 from 6pm at the Karumba Recreation Club, with a licenced bar & food vendors. Bring a picnic rug, bean bag or camping chair.

Come along, soak up the atmosphere and discover the people, stories and creativity that make the Gulf such a unique place to celebrate. There’s something for everyone — so come join the fun!

Steve Bastoni
Steve Bastoni is a renowned Australian actor with a career spanning over three decades in film, television and theatre. Known for his powerful performances in iconic Australian films and TV shows, Steve has also made his mark as a director and producer. His contributions to the arts are highly regarded, and he remains a prominent figure in the Australian entertainment industry.
Louise Child
We are delighted to welcome Australian actress, filmmaker, presenter, and writer Louise Child as a Judge. Bringing extensive experience in front of and behind the camera, her screen credits include Crazy Fun Park, Safe Home, and Fools in Paradise. NIDA-trained, Louise is also the founder of Louise Loves Productions and a Miss World Australian Ambassador. She looks forward to judging films and hosting our festival film workshop!

Sullivan Stapleton
Internationally acclaimed actor Sullivan Stapleton is best known for starring in NBC’s Blindspot, HBO’s Strike Back, and Warner Bros’ 300: Rise of an Empire. Following an AFI-nominated breakout performance in the feature film Animal Kingdom, his prominent film credits include Gangster Squad, Renegades, and Ride Like a Girl. His extensive Australian screen work includes hit series such as Underbelly, Rush, and Satisfaction, alongside an AACTA-nominated lead performance in Cut Snake.

Come along, bring a picnic rug and enjoy up to 12 short films under the stars in a picturesque location (live music, food, films and celebrities!).
