Last week, Mayor Jack and CEO Anne attended the LGAQ Civic Leaders Annual Forum in Brisbane and took the opportunity to meet with key Queensland Ministers, advocating for the issues facing Carpentaria Shire.

While in Brisbane, they met with several Queensland Government representatives, including Brent Mickelberg (Minister for Transport and Main Roads), Tony Perrett (Minister for Primary Industries), David Janetzki (Queensland State Treasurer), as well as the Health Minister, key advisors and their teams. Discussions focused on important priorities such as roads and transport, agriculture, and health. These conversations are vital in ensuring Carpentaria’s needs are heard at a state level.
We will continue to strongly advocate for our region, with a particular focus on critical priorities such as fuel and food security.
